Ghost Fest at Newcastle Castle is set to return! Following two successful nights in 2019, GHOST FEST returns on HALLOWEEN and we're expecting another night of frights! This is guaranteed to be an unforgettable evening that will unnerve even the bravest of ghost hunters.

Ghost Fest: The Return will begin in the Great Hall of the Castle Keep with a special screening of Night Of The Living Dead.

There is then a talk from Crime Viral's Cheish Merryweather.

How to Kill A Witch

In 1650, the Newcastle witch trials saw 30 suspects tried in the Town Hall and 15 were executed on the Town Moor. Join Cheish Merryweather this night as she talks through the many ways witches were tortured into confession and killed. There will also be top tips on How To Recognize A Witch - in case there is someone who you have had your own suspicions about for awhile.

30 minutes

Then as it begins to get dark, ticket holders are split into smaller groups for a 2-hour long paranormal investigation of the Castle Keep guided by Spiritus Paranormal. With years of experience and having conducted more than a hundred paranormal investigations, the Spiritus Paranormal team will allow guests a chance to use the equipment and personally take part in the investigation.

Spiritus Paranormal have had the pleasure of previously working with Most Haunted's Barry John and are keen investigators at the Castle Keep. For the very brave, they are also in possession of a Ouija board.

Built by Henry II between 1172 and 1177, Castle Keep is well-known for being very active as unexplained mists, dark shadows, and orbs have been captured on camera. Those who have visited the castle witnessed the chanting of the monks coming from the Queens Chamber and the ghost of the “Poppy Girl” who was beaten to death by male prisoners in the dungeon below.
