Newcastle Castle is one of the North East’s most iconic, important and historic venues. The buildings offer a variety of atmospheric and unique spaces that can be used for all sorts of corporate, quirky and novel events.

In the Black Gate

This former gatehouse is a unique combination of old and modern. Although medieval on the outside, it has modern facilities and disabled access.

Located on the second floor is the Harbottle Suite: a spacious and airy meeting room. Tables and chairs can be reconfigured to suit your requirements. The space offers free wi-fi, speakers, an overhead projector and dropdown screen. There is also a disabled toilet/baby changing facilities, and a kitchenette where snacks can be prepared.

In the Castle Keep

The Keep is a striking part of the city’s skyline, towering over the River Tyne and its bridges. The Great Hall – on the second floor – is the grandest of the venue’s spaces, capable of holding up to 80 guests, and has a large vaulted ceiling and galleries.

On the ground floor – accessible from street level – is the Gaol: an attractive, completely accessible room, with wooden flooring, handrails and movable furniture. The adjoining Chapel can be used as break-out space to your main function. The rooftop has a flat paved floor and gives stunning panoramic views over the Quayside.
