Newcastle Castle is a vital piece of North East England's heritage, and we want to ensure that as many people as possible can visit, experience and learn about the important historical site which gave the city its name.

To do this, we're fundraising to develop new experiences for visitors with limited mobility or visual impairments. Every donation will be reinvested into allowing visitors to see, hear and touch the entirety of the Castle Keep without having to leave our accessible ground-floor room, as well as enable those who can access the higher levels of the building to do so in comfort.

Our very own Sir Runs-A-Lot will spearhead this campaign by taking part in the Great North Run 2024, but we need your help to determine how much armour he will wear. We have thirteen donation targets, and every time we hit a target, Sir Runs-a-lot will become further equipped with a new piece of armour.
