Newcastle Castle Outreach
George Blair, our Outreach Officer, is a qualified teacher and enthusiastic historian with 10 years of experience working in the heritage sector. He delivers hands on historical workshops covering almost every period on the Primary Curriculum. Your class won’t just learn about history they’ll relive it, from fighting the battles of the past to cooking and eating the food of the past (George also has his food hygiene qualifications!)
George can deliver anything from a simple half day workshop for a single class, all the way to a full school, full day experience combining a carousel of varied activities throughout the day. Activities are very “hands-on” and cover weapons and warfare, food and drink, crime and punishment, everyday life and other topics relevant to the period being covered.
Topics covered include:
Iron Age
Romans
Anglo-Saxons
